Today we received an assignment from Kindergarten teachers at Washington - shout out to the amazing Ms. Clarke and Ms. Morrison. The twins picked animals they wanted to compare and contrast - all were in or around our house (sorry to the koi who were overlooked for furrier animals ;-). J went with rabbit and cat, while L chose snakes and dogs.
We followed instructional text: step by step directions per their teachers. We watched a couple kid friendly videos to gain more knowledge using Homeschool Pop and Free School. We filled in our Venn diagrams and tweaked. | Next we started creating. J and L wanted to use Google draw, but their M needs to figure out where to find it (ugh). Instead we went w/ play dough. L unkowingly has some Rodrigue influence in her work. J perhaps infused her love of Kevin Henkes illustrations in hers :-). |
We finished our day with our usual outside play and a walk with my parents-- 3+ miles completed today with some football and frisbee throw and catch practice when we got home. At our end of day review of favorite parts: "making the kitty and bunny", "going for our walk w/ Ya Ya and Pop Pop". Ludic arts and family are consistently the top pick in the parts of our daily learning assignments. |
